The coronavirus pandemic hasn’t just resulted in huge disruptions to the nation’s largest meat processing plants. Now, it’s effecting American farmers too. Baby pigs, chickens, and cattle are being killed because there’s no room for them without running processing plants. Those animals are the ones you would’ve been buying at the grocery store in a few months. But, actually, there IS room for them. LOCAL meat processing plants are allowed to do business with individuals, so why can’t they process meat to sell in local grocery stores?
