“One of the main concerns of patients dealing with tooth extractions and surgical procedures is the post-operative pain and discomfort after the treatment. After years of studies, it has been determined that the use of rich platelet plasma can considerably improve the healing process after procedure such as tooth extractions, implant placements and bone graft. A small blood collection is obtained in the clinic at the day of the appointment. Next, we use a specialized centrifuge machine to obtain the platelet rich plasma. The centrifuge spins the sample and separates the platelets from other blood components. Immediately after finishing your procedure, we will carefully introduce the PRP in high concentration to the surgical area. We will close the surgical area with sutures as we normally do. With PRP Therapy, we can shorten the healing period, improving the bone and gum formation, while at the same time reducing swelling and avoiding the risk of infection.”
