Is Laughing Gas safe for your kids? In this video, we dive into why I recommend Nitrous Oxide sedation for most young kids’ first filling or extraction appointment.

It’s critical to understand the long term implications of a traumatic experience at the dentist early in life. If your child fears the dentist, that can stick with them for life. That lends to less checkups and cleanings, which can allow a tooth requiring a small filling turn into a root canal or extraction situation.
Bottom line, a healthy relationship with the dental atmosphere is critical. If your child is young (e.g. 6 years old) and they need a filling or extraction, I’d recommend the laughing gas for their first dental treatment experience. It will better allow them to have a positive first experience, which can translate to a long-term healthy relationship with the dentist, and the dental atmosphere in general. This, in my opinion, will lead to better oral health over their lifetime.
Shout out to CJ for helping me with this video! He did great on camera, and under the dental microscope, too 🙂
